Umicore has a long and rich history in the production, development and marketing of inorganic salts and oxides of cobalt and nickel. The products are traditionally used in a wide range of applications and can be found in many different places in our society and environment. The cobalt blue pigment is undoubtedly the oldest and most famous product in this family, but many others are also essential and critical in paint, tyre, plating, petrol, catalyst and even agricultural industries.

The logo 'Umicore' stands for more than 70 years for a reliable, consistent and high quality.

But we are also looking to new horizons...
Umicore would like to increase its flexibility, price-competitiveness and product-development for this range of products.

In a first step, new products based on Co and Ni, but also other metals, will be marketed which are complimentary to the existing ones and are offering economical or technical benefits to the clientele already served today.

Therefore, Umicore has recently acquired two new production plants: Umicore Specialty Chemicals Arab (Alabama, USA - the previous Hall Chemicals plant) and Umicore Specialty Chemicals Subic (Philippines - the previous Pacific Rare Metals plant).

In any case, all those new products have to fit with the keywords of the Business Line Ceramics and Chemicals being Quality, Competitiveness, and Economical Value for the customer and Umicore.
