GeO2 for PET production 
GeO₂ is used as a catalyst or as an additive in the production of Poly Ethylene Teraphtalate (PET) for the production of bottles, sheet and film and of textile fibres. 

Recommended grades for this application are 

• Catalyst grade GeO₂ 
• Amorphous grade GeO₂ 
• Fast soluble grade GeO₂ 

GeO₂ for Phosphors 
Germanium is used in magnesium germanate and fluorogermanate, both giving typical fluorescence in the deep red part of the visible spectrum. These germanates are used in mercury vapour lamps as a constituent of the fluorescent coating. 
For this application we recommend our Amorphous grade GeO₂ 

GeO₂ for Bismuth Germanate Crystals 
GeO₂ is one of the primary products for the production of scintillation phosphor bismuth germanate (BGO), used in medical, high energy and nuclear physics. We have a specifically designed BGO grade GeO₂ for this application 

GeO₂ for Transformation 
Umicore has also an Electronic grade GeO₂ available for transformation into Ge metal
